New Orleans is the birth place of jazz and naturally home to the worlds greatest jazz musicians. A friend of mine once told me that you often pay thirty or more dollars in other places to attend a jazz concert that isn't half as good as a New Orleans jazz musician playing for tips on the corner. "Everyday Jazz" is a sculpture that I assembled to represent a New Orleans native that makes his living playing Jazz music full time. From one Jazz Club to the next, these talented musicians fill New Orleans with the atmosphere that many travel great distances to enjoy. So many talented musicians go their whole lives without being discovered, yet they carry a piece of New Orleans that doesn't happen over night. Years gone by developing a style that echoes in the streets of a city that layed its foundation on Jazz. Hats off to those musicians that dedicate their lives to making music, great music! |
